One year ago, in the early morning of July 4th, Wyoming's Alcova Resort burned down.

One year later the resort posted this picture of a finished building.

Yes, folks- THEY ARE BACK!

Well, almost. The new place is not open yet.

But it looks good enough that they wanted to post pictures on their Facebook page.

There is still heavy equipment outside and a lot of workers moving around both inside and out.

They have not released a grand reopening date, yet.

The photos of the truck, below, are FASCINATING!

On the morning of July 4th, 2023 the Alcova Marina was engulfed in flames.

An investigation by ATF called the fire arson. To this date, nobody has been arrested.

The marina boat slips remained open while the bar, store, and restaurant were rebuilt.

In the parking lot, below, there was a pickup truck with some yellow police tape on it.

The truck was parked overnight near the structure that caught fire.

One side of the truck looks perfectly fine.

The other side, however...

That poor truck was just melted by the heat.

Paint, tires, and anything plastic sit, sagging like wax that dripped down the side of a candle.

I'm sure the insurance company is going to love looking at photos of this mess.

The only thing I could not see was the inside of the vehicle.

I wonder how the dash and the seats look.

Let's take a look at another angle where you can see the side view mirror.

That's completely melted and drooping.

The plastic covers for the tail and headlights are the same.

Looks like the trim around the wheel well was also plastic.

At this point, those out there with a sense of humor are saying, "That will buff out."

Well, actually, on the surface it looks like everything here can be fixed.

The insurance company will probably total it.

Alcova On Ice

One of Wyoming's most beautiful lakes, seen after weeks of winter storms and sub-zero temperatures.

The ice can be heard making strange noises, from snap, crackle, and pop, to glub glub.

The works of people talking in a normal tone of voice carry across the frozen surface.
