WATCH: Senator Barrasso Questions RFK On Vaccine Concerns
At a Senate Finance Committee hearing on Thursday, Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso questioned HHS Sec. RFK Jr. about vaccines.
Barrasso is known by many as Wyoming’s Doctor. During his 24 years as an orthopedic surgeon, Barrasso served as President of the Wyoming Medical Society and was named Wyoming Physician of the Year.
Senator Barrasso expressed his concerns over Secretary Kennedy's stance on vaccines, as Barrasso is a big supporter of them.
You can watch the exchange between the two in the video below.
"Can you explain what steps you're going to be taking to make sure vaccine guidance is clear, evidence-based, and trustworthy?" asked Senator Barrasso.
Kennedy responded that he aims to make it " clear, evidence-based, and trustworthy, for the first time in history."
The secretary reasoned that when he was a kid, he had to get three vaccines, and all was good. Today, children must receive up to 69 vaccines to be fully compliant between being an infant and 18 years old.
Kennedy went on to explain why he wanted to go back and explore the risk assessments for most of those vaccines, so that people could make good choices.
Senator Barrasso then spoke of the problems of politicizing the process, as happened during the COVID outbreak.
Kennedy responded with how few people have the COVID boosters due to their lack of faith in the CDC. A faith that he would like to restore. He promised full transparency from the agency.
