It's always important to have some form of transportation. But at what cost? There is definitely no secret that Wyoming gas prices are higher than they have been in years and the price of vehicles alone in our state are right near the top of the list of the most expensive in the nation.

Car shopping can be exciting, but then again, it can also be very frustrating. Based on the prices here, it's likely the latter. According to new data provided by iSeeCars.com, used cars in Wyoming are the second most expensive average price than in any other state. Only Alaska's used cars had a more expensive average price than what we pay for used vehicles here in the Cowboy State.

The average price for a used car in Wyoming is $29,419. That was only $247 less than what Alaska pays. Wyoming's average used car price was also over $2,000 more than what Montana pays and they came in with the third highest average price for a used car in the nation.

The average used car price for the entire U.S. is currently $24,710, which is almost $5,000 less than what we pay in Wyoming. Just to our south, Colorado is paying $24,684. Just to our east in Nebraska, the average price for a used car is just $23,725. Indiana holds the cheapest average price for a used car in the country at $21,961. Much lower than what we are paying here.

It's definitely looking like if you're in the market for a used car, you may want to make a trip out of state for to find your best deal.
