Adopted Casper Girl Uncovers Stranger Than Fiction Family Tree
Special thanks to KTVQ TV in Montana for this wonderful story:
From a young age, this Wyoming girl thought that she was adopted.
Jessica Lippincott knew that things were different with her and her parents.
At the time she thought that she was an only child.
Later in life, Jessica was caring for her mother who had cancer when a strange truth was confessed.
Jessica asked about her real father.
Her mother told her that it probably did not matter because the man she might remember as her father, who was not around for most of her life, was probably not her father at all.
It turns out that mom had used a sperm donor.
That's when the story takes several bizarre twists.
You can watch an interview with Jessica in the video below.
At the age of two, Jessica was abducted by a man who she thought was her father.
Her mother's estranged partner had followed the family to Casper, Wyoming. He assaulted her grandmother who was babysitting Jessica, then took her on a long road trip to Florida in a stolen car.
Authorities found her in Florida 3 months later.
Now that Jessica knew that this kidnapper was not her real father, nor was the stepfather who raised her, she went looking for her biological father—the sperm donor.
It turns out that Jessica was never an old child.
Tracing back to find her biological father she found that she had 50 siblings.
Over the past few years she has contacted and met most of her siblings.
She and her siblings meet on a regular basis and have become a true extended family.
As for the biological father, she met him too.
He lives in Southern California and is now in his 80s.
He was happy to meet with Jessica and her children, which was important to her.
Jessica now lives in Thermopolis, Wyoming.
