It's sad to see such a nice place close its doors.

I was probably the 3rd customer The Bourgeois Pig had when they opened.

They offered the most comfortable coffee shop in Caper, with big stuffed chairs and sofas.

Their last day open will be Sunday, Oct. 27.

Josh Tinnell opened The Bourgeois Pig back in 2019.

I remember speaking with him as he opened his doors. He told me that he had returned to his hometown of Casper after many years of living and working in other places.

The atmosphere was dark and quiet. The PIG has been the perfect place to meet with friends and chat.

Here is how the shop was described on their own website:

Luxury Coffee for the Common Swine

The Bourgeois Pig is a madcap mashup of small town warmth and counterculture cool. We are Casper’s unofficial living room, the preferred haunt of the most iconoclastic local riff raff and wayward passers-through, all vibing over meticulously handcrafted bakes and exceptional, local roasted coffee.

The Pig’s rockin’ crew is serving up proper coffee to the improper crowd 7 days a week, 7-4. Also: espresso, specialty teas, Italian sodas, quiche, sticky buns, muffins, scones, shortbread cookies, and other relentlessly sweet delights.

Join in the revelry of board game nights, art showings, disco dance parties, bad poetry competitions, 18+ peep shows, and live music from bands who seriously shred.

A lot of chatter in the room was about the odd posters and other decorations on the walls.

So why would such a nice place close?

“We never really recovered from the pandemic,” Josh old Oil City News.

Casper has a lot of coffee shops.

Perhaps a few too many.

But as nice as those other shops are, none could ever compare to the atmosphere of The Bourgeois Pig.

You have to admit, the name of the place really stands out.

A Bourgeois is a person, or pig in this case, of or characteristic of the middle class, typically with reference to its perceived materialistic values or conventional attitudes.

Downtown will miss this unique coffee shop.

I'm sure Josh is having to deal with a lot of customers pleading with him to stay open.

He has had a loyal following.

But not enough of a following to stay in business, unfortunately.

Double Decker Coffee Bus

YES, you can enjoy your beverage upstairs.

The beautiful double-decker bus can be seen parked around Casper Wyoming in the summer.

They serve traditional coffee - various mixed coffee drinks - and real fruit smoothies.

This Wyoming Store Has The Funniest Signs

This store has far too many signs to show them all to you.

You could spend a day there and not see them all.

There are also bumper stickers, hats, T-shirts, and so much more to make you smile and laugh.

You won't find this store where you would expect it to be.
