Hail Pummels Cheyenne Food Truck Breaks Windows
Some residents of Cheyenne, Wyoming, had some severe hail damage this last Friday, August 1st.
Below are some short videos from residents and pictures from one food truck driver who had a couple of windows blown out while he was in his truck.
The storm prompted tornado sirens as the clouds churned overhead.
This first video from Alyssa Hampton shows her husband rushing out to put a blanket on the windshield of his car to prevent damage from baseball-sized hail. He wore his work hard hat.
Please pardon the language in the next video.
It's understandable why this person is upset.
Here he holds in his hand a true baseball-sized hailstone that came down on his house and car.
It must have been loud when it came down.
Noam Mantaka owns a food truck.
Sorry, but I'm unable to post Facebook videos here due to a technical issue.
But I can show you the photos of the broken windshield on his truck.
Plus the broken side window.
The photo above is the first break in the windshield.
The next photo is the second break, which happened farther up on the driver's side.
Both Noam Mantaka and the lady he was working with got minor glass cuts on their arms due to shards flying through the truck.
The side door break was a loud one.
This is probably where the glass came from that cut them both.
They are okay, but their food truck is going to need some new glass.
No word yet on what the body of the truck looks like.
Noam posted these final photos on his Facebook page, showing the damage and holding several hail balls in his hand.
A pen was added to give more of a reference
to the size of what was pelting their truck.
Show must go on. But they canceled it. Noam's Table will serve tomorrow at Black Tooth Brewery - Cheyenne from noon and at the Cruise Nights Cheyenne frome 6pm. Despite the damage to the truck.
Below is a photo taken by our Townsquare Media newsman, Doug Randal.
His car suffered a broken windshield.
It looks like several hits.
