Cheyenne Senior Municipal Court Judge Mark Moran announced Wednesday that he's retiring after 20 years on the bench.

Moran, who has served five mayors, was the city’s junior municipal court judge from 1999 to 2015, and was appointed to his current position in 2015. He's also been the municipal court judge for the town of Pine Bluffs since 2002.

"Judge Moran is not only a fine judge, but one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I have come to know," said Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr.

"He has been a true public servant, making himself available at any time of the day or night, weekend or holiday, and considered it his honor," she added. "I thank him for his service and wish him good health and happiness in his retirement."

Moran's retirement is effective Dec. 31.
