"As I continued driving east, I noticed the semi-truck started to make its left-hand turn. I thought to myself, surely he has to see me and will stop," Miears said.

"As I got close to the business entrance, I realized the driver of eh semi-truck did not see me coming, and that is when I decided it was to to slam on the brakes and prepare for what I thought could be the worst thing that could ever happen to me and my family."

"If you are driving, make sure to wear your seatbelt, because seat belts truly do save lives, and please, don't drive distracted," said Miears.
