Firearms Manufacturer Stag Arms Moving to Cheyenne
Firearms manufacturer Stag Arms is relocating its operations and headquarters from Connecticut to Cheyenne, company officials announced Monday. The company says the move should be completed by the end of 2019.
Stag Arms, founded in 2003, manufactures AR-15 type rifles, marketed as Stag-15 rifles. On its website, the company says it specializes in the advancement of the AR firearms platform. "Having pioneered the first left-handed Modern Sporting Rifle, The Stag Arms team continues to develop around different calibers on the AR platform for both our right and left-handed customers."
Stag Arm's relocation to Cheyenne is the end result of a nationwide search for a new home. Stag began working with Cheyenne LEADS in June 2019 to find a site, explore the local workforce and navigate the community.
“We decided it was time to do a complete refresh of the Company. We needed to solve for three things: visionary customer-centric leadership, a business-friendly, pro-growth economic environment, and a cultural climate that reflects Stag’s brand image of independence and free spiritedness," Elie Azar, Founder, and CEO of White Wolf Capital, LLC, which owns a controlling interest in Stag Arms, said in a statement.
“Cheyenne came out on top on most of the individual criteria,” Azar added, “and considering our requirements as a whole, it was by far the superior site. Not only is Wyoming an incredibly hospitable place to do business, it is also a top destination for outdoor recreation, including hunting and shooting sports, which reflects its citizens’ unwavering support for the Second Amendment.”
"Ultimately, Stag Arms had to make a business decision and I believe this announcement is an affirmation that Wyoming is continuing to cultivate a culture that allows private enterprise to flourish,” Wyoming Govoner Mark Gorden said in a statement.
