It breaks my heart to write this.

Longtime Wyomingite, radio and TV host and sports broadcaster Frank Gambino has died.

His fiancée, Jane Ifland, announced it in a Facebook post.

My beloved fiancé, Frank Gambino and I were in Florida for our birthdays over the last new year. Last night, he passed away unexpectedly. Please remember us in your thoughts and prayers, she wrote.

Frank graduated from Drake University with a degree in radio and TV. Long-time Wyoming residents will remember him from KTWO-TV from 1987 to 2007. He was an anchor and reporter at KCWY from 2010 through 2015.

Later, he worked at KTWO, which was purchased by Townsquare Media. He was with that company from 1990 to 2025. He was the manager of WyoPreps, which is known by sports lovers across the state.

I got to know him through the Wake Up Wyoming morning radio talk show, which is heard on multiple Townsquare Media stations across Wyoming. Frank was also seen around the state doing freelance work.

He was known around the state and the region because he traveled everywhere for every sporting event. On air, he was often opinionated, in the funniest ways. The audience loved his outbursts and on-air banter.

Frank loved sports at every level. He was a master at local sports with an intimate knowledge of every local coach and kid who played. He knew what local athletics meant to the community and how it shaped the futures of our region's young people.

By today's standards, he was young. Frank Gambino was only 63 years old.

Vintage Wyoming Movie Posters

I love walking down the hallway of a modern movie theater and looking at the old posters of vintage movies.

That got me thinking about old Westerns based on Wyoming. How many of those posters are still around?

Many are, and many are for sale online, if you want to decorate your home, or even home theater, with classic and mostly forgotten movie posters.

Most of these films were made before the era of television. Hollywood was cranking out these things as fast as they could.

The plots, the scrips, the acting, directing, and editing were SO BAD, they were good.
