Wyoming State Senator Troy McKeown confronted the Gillette City Council over a Nuclear Non-Disclosure Agreement.

He wanted to know why every part of this deal was not out in the open.

Is the city signing a non-disclosure against state law?

The Gillette City Council released a statement denying any wrongdoing.

“The basis of these accusations appears to be that Wyoming law, including the Wyoming Public Records Act, prohibits governments and elected officials from signing non-disclosure agreements,” the city said. “These accusations are demonstrably false.”

The accusations were made by Wyoming State Senator Troy McKeown. (Video below).

“I’m really disgruntled that y’all think you can sign a non-disclosure agreement and violate the State Public Records Act,” McKeown said. “You’re doing this all in a back room. I’m referring to the nuclear companies you want to bring in and the stuff you want to do with that in secret. Why is there a secret with the companies? Why can’t we know what the companies are? You’re not a corporate headquarters. You don’t run a business. You think you do, evidently.”

The city made the case that the state statute prohibits government entities from releasing privileged or confidential information.

A non-disclosure agreement was agreed upon as part of the resolution.

That agreement outlines the terms for exchanging information.

That information is available to the public and was always accessible via the City of Gillette archives.

Some companies worry about proprietary information that they do not want their competitors to get hold of.

Wyoming's Ceepiest Pet Cemetery

The writing on the stones shows that these people loved their pets so much that they wanted to take special care of them when they died.

Yet, approaching this place looks like something out of a Stephen King novel.
