He Names Every Wyo Town Just By Looking At The Map
Imagine looking at a map of Wyoming where all the cities and towns are circled, and naming them while the clock ticks.
Welcome to the YouTube page called Sweating Geography where this young man is going to try to pronounce every city name in Wyoming.
Our host starts by leaving us a written comment that reads,
This video marks the true start of my USA grind I name all 99 cities and towns of Wyoming.
I plan to be able to name a couple thousand cities in the US.
Watch the clock on the top left of the screen tick away as he tries to get them all in an allotted time.
Let's take a look at what constitutes a "city."
Cities don't have to have skyscrapers. They just need to meet the following qualifications:
A Wyoming statute indicates towns are municipalities with populations of less than 4,000. Municipalities of 4,000 or more residents are considered "first-class cities".
Anything smaller is a town, township, or just incorporated.
Don't expect him to pronounce all of these names correctly.
Though he does a really good job with most of them.
Some people have lived in Wyoming all of their lives and still get these names wrong.
He laughs and enjoys some of our Wyoming town names like Ten-Sleep. If he wants to have a little more fun he should look up where and how that town got its name.
He would probably love looking up how Chugwater got its name.
I was wondering if he would pronounce Duboise correctly, since the people of that town intentionally mispronounce it, which is another interesting story. He almost got that town name correct. He just dropped the "s" at the end. Not a big deal.
He does notice that we have an obsession with towns with "PINE" in their names.
Nice job.
Could you do it?
