HEY WYOMING! Don’t Trust Your Weather App
Next week's weather forecast is - well...
Nobody knows.
The weather forecasts for Wyoming and surrounding states from Sunday and into next week are a big unknown.
There is so much going on that even the computer models don't know what to make of it.
So if you have been looking at that app and the 10-day forecast - just put it away for now.
Nobody knows what's coming.
Cold air is pushing down from Canada.
Warm air is pushing in from the Pacific.
There is even something coming up from the Gulf of - um Mexico or America, whichever you want to call it.
The boundary where all of that meets is Wyoming.
Those systems will be pushing on each other from all sides.
What forecast we end up with depends on who wins the battle.
Forecasters will have a better idea of what's going on when we get closer to the day of...
But they won't know much beforehand.
Even your weather app will continue to change the forecasts for next week as we move through the next few days.
Weather apps use computer algorithms. Nobody is telling it what to say.
Your app will use one of several models. U.S. Canadian. Japanese, European,n and the new AI model.
We've become accustomed to looking at weather apps on our phones to see what's coming next.
You'll see people point to their phone and say,
It's supposed to snow today.
WORD OF CAUTION: There is no such thing as "SUPPOSED TO" regarding weather.
