At a Tuesday press conference in Maralogo, President-Elect Trump announced a rollback of wind energy subsidies.

The money coming in from the federal government through the Biden administration has been the backbone of American's growing wind industry.

If President Trump and the Republicans in Congress are able to end wind farm subsidies, what will happen to projects in states like Wyoming?

That would include those being constructed and those already standing, but depending on government money to survive.

The Wyoming wind industry is taking note of what the incoming president had to say.

Watch the video or read the transcript below: 58:11 into the press conference.

"And you know you can talk about windmills, they litter our country.

They are littered all over our country like dripping paper.

Like dropping garbage in a field, now that's what happens to them because a third of the time they turn to garbage.

They are the most expensive energy ever.

They only work if they get subsidies.

The only people who want them are the people getting rich off of windmills getting massive subsidies from the U.S. Government.

And it's the most expensive energy there is.

Many many times more expensive than clean natural gas.

So, we are going to try and have a policy where no windmills are being built."

"You know, off the coast of New Jersey they want to build like 200 windmills and people are going crazy.

Nobody wants them and they are very expensive.

They don't work without subsidies.

You don't want energy that needs subsidies.

Energy is a good business, you don't need subsidies.

But when you build these massive towers up to 25 stories tall, 40 stories, they have one 70 stories tall, these blades they take three ships to ship them.

They are dangerous, you see what's happening up in the Massachusetts area with the whales.

They had two whales wash ashore in a 17 year period and now they had 14 this season. The windmills are driving the whales crazy.

I don't know if you've every been to Palm Spring California where there are dead windmills rusting and falling down.

Why should they take them down? It's very expensive to take them down."

A Little Wyoming School House Preserved In Time

The little hamlet of Slater Wyoming has preserved on of their last two remaining buildings with all the love they feel for it.

There was once a tiny town on this spot.

Most everything is gone except the schoolhouse and the community building.

I stopped by one Saturday morning and the locals were more than happy to let us in to have a look.
