Internet Down Day 2 – Casper Residents Must Make Eye Contact

Day two of little to no internet and cell service in Casper, Wyoming.

There would be panic, but the public has forgotten how to.

A couple that met on a dating app lost internet in the middle of their meetup at a local coffee shop.

Suddenly, they had to put their phones down and make eye contact.

That was awkward. Especially because neither of them looked like their online photo, and neither was sure if they were sitting in front of the right person.

Kids in school were forced to pay attention to their teachers and could not cheat by looking up answers on the internet.

Internet trolls had no way to harass anyone. As expected, they did not have the guts to do it in person.

How is anyone expected to navigate around town if their GPS is down? Are they expected to read street signs? How lame is that?

At a local home, the Snog family sat down for dinner, having no idea what to say to each other.

It's so much easier to text the person across the table rather than making eye contact and talking to them.

On the bright side, nobody has walked into a door or a telephone pole in a couple of days.

I don't mind writing a story picking on the people of Casper because their internet is down, so they can't read this.

Spectrum sent out email and text messages (as well as app alerts), stating:

We have detected an outage affecting your Spectrum service.

Our data shows that you have recently experienced similar issues. We apologize for the inconvenience and are alerting our technicians to further investigate your service.

Spectrum crews are working quickly and safely and estimate restoration by 12:00 AM.

We want to keep you posted on our progress, so you can expect to hear from us every two hours until service is restored. You will receive your next update at 10:00 PM.

There is no need to contact customer service during the outage, as these notifications will include the latest updates.
