LARAMIE -- The Wyoming Cowboys hit the road once against heading to San Diego State for a battle with the Aztecs on Saturday night.

The contest is slated for a 6 p.m. MT start on CBS Sports Network with Dave Ryan on the call alongside Dan Dickau.

Fans can listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.

 

About The Teams

Wyoming heads into the contest with a 11-10 overall record and a 4-6 mark in conference play. The Cowboys earned an overtime win over Fresno State on Tuesday by a score of 83-72.

The Pokes are shooting 36 percent from behind the arc on the season and 38.9 percent in conference play to rank second in the conference. UW hit a season-high 17 against Fresno State. Wyoming is shooting 44.5 percent from the field and opponents are shooting 44 percent.

The Aztecs head into the contest with ranked in the Top-50 in the NET Rankings with a 14-5 overall record and a 7-3 mark in conference play. The Aztecs are averaging 72.1 points per game and are allowing 63 points per game to rank first in the MW and No. 13 in the nation.

The Aztecs hold opponents to 36.5 percent from the field for first in the MW and third in the nation. SDSU is shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 34.5 percent from behind the arc.

 

About The Players

The Cowboys are led by Obi Agbim at 18.1 points per game, landing second in the conference. He is shooting 47 percent from behind the arc to lead the league and rank fourth in the nation. He also has 11 assists in his last two games and leads the team with 3.4 per game.

Jordan Nesbitt added his eighth double-double of the season against Fresno State to rank third in the MW and No. 23 in the nation. He adds 8.6 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per night to lead the team and rank fourth in the MW.

Kobe Newton adds 8.4 points per game and has made 35 threes for the season.

The Aztecs are led in scoring by Miles Byrd at 14 points per game. He also adds 4.1 rebounds per game and has 38 steals on the season to rank fourth in the MW. Nick Boyd adds 11.8 points per game and leads with team with 3.6 assists per night.

Jared Coleman-Jones leads the team with 5.2 rebounds per night. Gwath Magoon adds 8.1 points and has 46 blocks on the season to rank first in the conference and No. 12 nationally.

 

About The Series

The Cowboys trail the all-time series with San Diego State 51-42, dating back to 1979. The Cowboys are 12-32 all-time against the Aztecs in San Diego and have lost 10 straight in the series.
