WGFD’s Casper Region Has A New Regional Wildlife Supervisor

It was just a couple of months ago that, after 30+ years with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Brian Olsen decided the time was right for him to spend a little more time enjoying the outdoors and retired. He's a heck of a guy, and he sure helped me understand a little more about the rules, regulations, and Wyoming outdoors way of life on numerous episodes of Wyoming Hookin' & Huntin' Outdoors.

I'm now looking forward to getting to know and introducing you to the newly appointed Regional Wildlife Supervisor, Mark Dexter.

He brings a diverse background in wildlife biology, law enforcement, leadership, and community relations to the position, according to a WGFD release. He earned a bachelor's degree in wildlife and fish biology and management from the University of Wyoming.

After spending 14 years with the Converse County Sheriff's Department, he moved to Game and Fish as a damage aid in biological services, and in 2023 he was named Game Warden in Torrington.

Since then, Mark has put considerable effort into landowner relations, participating in and offering law enforcement training, welcoming visitors, meeting with constituents, and assisting his colleagues. His work is recognized within the Division, as he earned the 2025 Laramie Region Peer Recognition award and was nominated twice for the WGWA Game Warden of the Year.

Mark’s unique blend of biological expertise, extensive law enforcement leadership and genuine commitment to community relations makes him the perfect fit to guide the Casper Region wildlife team forward. We are thrilled to see him take on this new role and look forward to the Casper public experiencing his dedication to the public and the resource.
