If you're looking for volunteering experience, Natrona County Emergency Management is building an Emergency Operations Center and seeking people to join its emergency communications team.

If a community emergency occurs, first responders will jump into action. However, only so many first responders can be prepared, and the community must be ready. Becoming a Natrona County Emergency Management Communications Group member is a great way to take care of yourself, your family, and your community.

  • Are you calm under pressure?
  • Are you willing to take training courses and qualify?
  • Team oriented?
  • Have a knack for communication and respond well to emergencies?

If you put a checkmark on each of those qualifications and are interested in being considered for a role on the team, you need to fill out an application. To get an application, just email ncema@natronacounty-wy.gov

The best part of the opportunity is that you don't need any experience; you want to be an asset to your community and help in a time of need; this is right up your alley.

Once you complete the application and the Emergency Management Volunteer Basic Training Course, you must complete comms basic training, attend the field and selection on June 14, and pass a background and drug test.

You'll learn about fire safety, search and rescue, organizing an emergency team, and other useful skills for helping in a crisis.

In Wyoming, several types of natural disasters can deeply impact the community.

  • Wildfires
  • Flooding
  • Tornadoes
  • Earthquakes
  • Winter Storms
  • Severe Thunderstorms

You should answer the call if you want to be a community member leading the charge during those times. Just email: ncema@natronacounty-wy.gov
