The ice has melted from most of Wyoming's fishing waters, and before long, they'll be full of fishing boats. Whether they're out for a fun day of leisure fishing or maybe one of the many fishing tournaments on the 2025 schedule, you can bet there will be anglers hollering "fish on."

Great weather in April is never promised, and we've been exposed to that since the month began a couple of weeks ago. The way it's looking, we're in for a wild second half to the month.

As we approach the end of April, there's a way you can show how tough of an angler you are by participating in the 2025 North Platte Walleyes Unlimited 'Toughman Tournament.'

The 33rd installment of the Toughman Tournament will again be held at Alcova Reservoir, and it is an opportunity for anglers to get out and enjoy the crapshoot of Wyoming weather. No one knows if it will rain, be sunny, snow, thunderstorm, sleet, or hail, but we know that any day you're fishing, it's better than a day at work.

There is one stipulation of being able to fish in the Toughman Tournament: you must be a member of the North Platte Walleyes Unlimited. Becoming a member is only $20, and the team entry fee is $100. All anglers who participate must be a member of NPWU.

All anglers must have a current Wyoming Game and Fish fishing license, and all boats must have the 2025 AIS decal.

Team captains must check in between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. at Okie Beach on April 26..

For more details, questions, or to fill out a Toughman application, check out the NPWU Facebook or Website.
