The Beautiful State Of Wyoming Will Pass On Pumpkin Spice
Wyoming is a coffee loving state, but when it comes to the popular Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, we're not that big of a fan.
Even though the world keeps getting earlier and earlier on when they release pumpkin spice items, many in the 2nd or 3rd week of August, October 1st is actually Pumpkin Spice Day.
Yes, because everything needs to have its own special holiday, the pumpkin spice flavor has its own special day. Now, if something has a special day, you'd sure think that would be the day to celebrate it. Not the case with a pumpkin spice latte.
For the last 20 years, Starbucks has been celebrating fall with the Pumpkin Spice Latte, and soon after everyone else jumped on the bandwagon. Peter Dukes is the man behind the fall themed beverage and said:
Within the first week of the market test, we knew we had a winner. I remember calling store managers on the phone to see how the new beverage was doing, and we could hear the excitement in their voices.
That may still be the case for many places still today, but not for the great state of Wyoming.
Gambling.com did a study by monitoring Semrush and Google Trends, over the last 90 days, to see which states googled certain phrases looking for Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte.
The four phrases they monitored were:
- Pumpkin Spice Latte
- Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte
- Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe
- Pumpkin Spice Latter Recipe Starbucks
The results showed that, even in coffee obsessed Wyoming, there were only 36 searches for the Pumpkin Spice Latte phrase. Meaning we're at #3 on the 'States Least Obsessed With Pumpkin Spice' list. With only Vermont and Mississippi with less searches. North Dakota and South Dakota were both in the top 10 as well.
On the other side of the coin, our neighbors to the south, Colorado, was #1 on the MOST Pumpkin Spice Obsessed states.
The pumpkin spice craze has ruined my love of pumpkin pie, and I automatically snarl my nose if I smell a hint of the fall favorite scent.
