The YMCA of Natrona County is an excellent resource for families in Casper, but today (July 2), it will be a little more challenging to access the building due to parking lot work.

Although the parking lots are undergoing some work, the facility remains open. Obviously, with summer camps and fitness classes in full swing, many people in Casper rely on the Y to maintain their daily routines.

The only difference between today and any other day is that you may have to walk a little further. Which, as the Y says on social media, is only going to help you get those extra steps.

The YMCA of Natrona County has been a staple in the community since its first building was constructed in 1962 and has continually expanded to meet the growing needs of the Casper community.

In 2017, the NERD YMCA of Natrona County initiated the expansion process with a new state-of-the-art facility located behind the original building on Casper Mountain Road. In 2022, the expansion continued with the opening of Phase II.

Everyone knows the Y as a place for childcare, swimming or exercise, but we’re so much more. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we’re working side-by-side with our neighbors to address critical community needs that help kids develop into smart, resilient adults, for people to improve their health and build a sense of community, and for our most vulnerable young people to get the care and support they need.
