Wyoming’s high school cross-country season rolls along with Week 3 of the 2024 season. Schools are spread out across the region again. There are four meets in the state. Riverton and Gillette host on Thursday. Big Horn and Rawlins host on Friday. Other schools will compete in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, or South Dakota.

WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY SCHEDULE WEEK 3 2024

This is the Week 3 schedule for cross country. All schedules are subject to change.

Thursday, Sept. 12:

Berry Bryant/Kyle Johnson Memorial CC Meet 2024 at Riverton Rendezvous Site in Riverton, WY – Burlington, Ft. Washakie, Green River, Lander, Riverton, St. Stephens, Thermopolis, Worland.

Ava Tapia of Worland won the race at 20:29.57. Her effort helped the Warriors win the team title. Davian Spoonhunter of Riverton won on his home course at 17:20.24. Worland won the boys' team crown to sweep the team titles.

Wayne Chaney Invitational at the Cam-Plex in Gillette – Campbell County, Cody, Kelly Walsh, Thunder Basin.

Lillie Kirkham from Cody crossed the finish line first at 19:38.40. She helped the Fillies win the team title, as well. Patrick Hardesty of Thunder Basin won the boys' division at 16:23.80 and helped the Bolts win the team title.

Out-of-State Events:

Belle Fourche Invitational CC meet at Belle Fourche, SD – Hulett, Newcastle, Sundance.

Aspen Bloom of Newcastle took 9th place. Clint Winkler of Newcastle was 11th.

 

Friday, Sept. 13:

Big Horn XC Meet at the Big Horn Equestrian Center in Big Horn, WY – Big Horn, Buffalo, Douglas, Glenrock, Lovell, Moorcroft, Rocky Mountain, Tongue River, Wright.

Maya Hall from Buffalo won the girls' race at 20:16.7. The Buffalo girls had a perfect score of 15 to win the event. Zach Friese of Buffalo took the boys' race at 16:48.1. He led the Bison to the team title with a perfect score of 15, as well.

Rawlins XC Invitational at Rochelle Ranch G.C. in Rawlins, WY – Rawlins, Rock River, Saratoga, Wheatland, Wyoming Indian; Out-of-State – Manila (UT).

Dai'Onna Posey of Wyoming Indian won the girls' race, and Logan Wells of Rawlins captured 1st in the boys' race.

Out-of-State Events:

Chadron HS XC Meet in Chadron, NE – Lusk.

Kimball Invite in Kimball, NE – Burns/Pine Bluffs, Cheyenne South, Torrington.

Kaycee Kosmicki won the girls' race at 21:49. Cheyenne South and Torrington tied for 2nd and Burns/Pine Bluffs was 4th. Torrington's Sully Wilson won the boys' race at 18:06.46. Burns/Pine Bluffs took 2nd in the boys' team standings, Torrington was 3rd, and South was 6th.

Tiger/Grizz Invitational at Idaho Falls, ID – Star Valley.

Jase Burton took 2nd in the boys' seeded race. The Braves finished 4th in those team standings. Carly Angell and Macy Kennington took 5th and 6th in the girls varsity race. The Lady Braves finished 2nd on a tiebreaker.

 

Saturday, Sept. 14:

Out-of-State Events:

Border Wars in Taylorsville, UT – Evanston, Lyman, Mountain View, Rock Springs.

Bozeman XC Invite at Bozeman, MT – Natrona County, Powell, Sheridan.

Ally Wheeler of NC finished in 3rd place at 18:33.74. Powell came in 3rd in the girls' team standings. Kalel Brubaker was 11th in the boys' race. Sheridan came in 7th in the boys' division.

Liberty Bell Cross Country Invitational 2024 at Littleton, CO – Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Jackson, Laramie, Worland.

Laramie's Flint Hartsky won the D2 boys' race. Kieran Giraldo of Laramie was 4th in the D2 girls' race.

Madison Antonino of Jackson was 18th in the girls' sweepstakes race. Trajn Swalstad of Worland finished 16th and Race Morrell of Central took 20th in the boys' sweepstakes race.

Lucas Steveson was 5th in the boys' D1 race.
