Running continues for the prep cross-country season in Wyoming for 2024 with teams spread out across the region. There are two meets in the state. Buffalo and Wyoming Indian host medium-sized fields. More teams are competing in races out of state. Those are in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY SCHEDULE WEEK 2 2024

This is the Week 2 schedule for cross country. All schedules are subject to change.

Friday, Sept. 6:

Buffalo HS Cross Country Invitational at TA Guest Ranch in Buffalo, WY – Big Horn, Buffalo, Douglas, Glenrock, Kelly Walsh, Powell, Riverton, Sheridan, Tongue River, Worland.

Kinley Cooley of Powell won the girls' race at 19:17.1 and led the Panthers to the team crown. Trajn Swalstad of Worland won the boys' race at 15:59.4. Buffalo captured the team title for the boys.

Chief Nation Invitational at Wyoming Indian HS in Ethete, WY – Burlington, Green River, Lander, Lovell, Rawlins, Saratoga, St. Stephens, Thermopolis, Wind River; Out-of-State – Manila (UT), Little Wound (SD).

Dorothy Jensen of Lander won the girls' race at 21:38.65. Jadeth Elder of Thermopolis crossed the finish line first at 17:58.11.

Out-of-State Events:

Gering Invite at Gering, NE – Burns/Pine Bluffs, Lusk, Southeast, Torrington, Wheatland.

Kaycee Kasmicki or Torrington won the girls' race at 21:22.02. Sully Wilson of Torrington took 3rd in the boys' race.

Northern Hills Invitational Cross Country Meet at Spearfish, SD – Campbell County, Hulett, Moorcroft, Natrona County, Newcastle, Sundance, Thunder Basin, Wright.

Carlee Roth of Thunder Basin took 3rd in the girls' race. NC was 3rd and Thunder Basin 4th in the team standings for the girls. Patrick Hardesty of Thunder Basin won the boys' race at 15:46.75. NC won the boys' team title.

Run BXC Invitational at Bozeman, MT – Cody.

Lillie Kirkham placed third and helped the Fillies finish 2nd in the team standings. Noah Kingston was 13th for Cody, who placed 10th as a team.

Runners Roost Flyin’ Ryan Invitational at Greeley, CO – Cheyenne South.

Results were not posted yet.

Thornton XC Invitational at Thornton, CO – Cheyenne Central, Laramie, Rock River.

Claire Arens of Laramie was 2nd in the girls' open race. Laramie was 4th as a team. Central was 3rd in the girls varsity division. Sofia Rose placed 3rd. Central was 7th in the boys' open division. They were 5th in the boys' varsity division. Race Morrell finished 2nd in that race.

Saturday, Sept. 7:

Out-of-State Events:

2024 Cardinal Classic Invitational at Soda Springs, ID – Evanston, Lyman, Mountain View, Rock Springs, Star Valley.

Windsor Wizards Invitational 2024 at Windsor, CO – Cheyenne East.
