Wyoming Falls to Nebraska, 68-28, in 6-Man Shootout All-Star Football Game [PHOTOS, VIDEO]
For the third straight year, Team Nebraska was too much for Team Wyoming in the 14th annual Wyoming-Nebraska 6-Man Shootout all-star football game. Nebraska pulled away for a 68-28 victory. Wyoming had a 22-14 lead with just under seven minutes left in the second quarter. Nebraska scored the next 54 points of the game. It was their fifth win in the last six meetings of the series.
NEBRASKA BEAT WYOMING IN THE ANNUAL 6-MAN ALL-STAR GAME
Wyoming took an early lead on the fifth play of the game, less than two minutes in. Bridger Cozzens from Little Snake River scored on a 10-yard TD run. After the PAT kick was converted, it was 8-0. Nebraska answered with a fourth-down TD pass and PAT kick. That tied it at 8-8. The Cornhusker State took its first lead with 32 seconds left in the first quarter. A seven-yard TD pass made it 14-8. Burlington’s Rykael Andrew hauled in a 7-yard TD pass, and the Cowboy State regained the lead at 16-14. Wyoming recovered a successful onside kick, and that led to another touchdown. Joe Bassett from Burlington caught a four-yard TD pass. The kick failed, but it was 22-14 Wyoming with 6:53 left in the first half. That was the Cowboy State’s last lead.
Nebraska came right back and tied it at 22-22. Then, they capitalized on a bad snap on fourth down, took over at the Wyoming 4-yard line, and scored on the next play for a 30-22 lead. After a turnover on downs, the Cowboy State made a goal-line stand right before halftime. It was 30-22 at the break.

The Cornhusker State scored on the opening drive of the second half. Then, Nebraska took advantage of a turnover on downs and an interception. The deficit grew to 52-22 after the third quarter. A similar scenario played out at the start of the fourth quarter. A turnover on downs and a fumble by Wyoming led to Nebraska’s next two TDs and a 68-22 lead. That came with 6:06 left in the game.
The Cowboy State capped the scoring when Bassett intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown with two minutes left.
The final was 68-28.
Nebraska leads the all-time series, 8-6.
