Casper Man Faces Strangulation Charge After Arrest in Cheyenne
A 31-year-old Casper man is facing a felony charge in Laramie County after allegedly strangling a female.
According to a booking sheet, Cheyenne police arrested Luke Branson Talbott at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, for misdemeanor domestic battery.

Talbott was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with domestic battery as well as strangulation of a household member - applying pressure on the throat or neck, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Initial Court Appearance
On Thursday, July 31, Talbott was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge TJ Forwood on the charges.
Talbott told Forwood he would hire his own attorney.
Forwood then asked the state for recommendation on bond.
"The state's concerned for the safety of the victim in this matter. Obviously, this is a crime of violence," the state said. "It looks like he has some prior contacts for interference with a peace officer and due to the nature of these crimes the state believes that $3,000 cash is appropriate."
"I would like ... a surety bond so I can start working, try to prove that this isn't who I am," Talbott told Forwood, but Forwood set bond at $3,000 cash.
Out on Bond
Talbott posted bond the following day, Aug. 1, and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11, at 11:30 a.m.
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
