Cheyenne Man Could Face Up to 160 Years for Delivering Fentanyl
A 40-year-old Cheyenne man currently serving a 45-day sentence on two misdemeanor drug possession charges is now facing eight felony drug charges.
Search Warrant
According to a booking sheet, on Monday, July 28, a search warrant was executed on Anthony Michael Hernandez Sr.'s residence in the 300 block of East 5th Street.

Police say during the service of the search warrant, Hernandez was in possession of less than three grams of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Hernandez was subsequently arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on the charges.
8 Felony Charges
On Tuesday, Aug. 5, Hernandez was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Magistrate Caitlin Harper on eight felony counts, including four for conspiracy and four for possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver, each punishable by up to 20 years in prison, up to a $25,000 fine, or both.
It's alleged that Hernandez conspired with a confidential informant to deliver fentanyl on or about April 19, May 28, and June 18.
It's also alleged that between April 20 and July 26, Hernandez conspired with another individual, including but not limited to Jesse Hernandez, to deliver fentanyl.
The state said it had "substantial concerns" regarding the allegations.
"His frequency, the use of methamphetamine, the ... 100 to 200 pills at a time that he'd be distributing, bringing that from out of state," the state said. "(He's) not afraid to use violence, not afraid to distribute narcotics ... with the seriousness of the penalty range encompassed by this, the state would ask for $25,000 bond."
Bond Set at $25K Cash
Harper followed the state's recommendation and set Hernandez's bond at $25,000 cash.
"Obviously, you're serving a sentence," Harper told Hernandez. "If you can post $25,000 cash or that amount is lowered at your preliminary hearing here in 10 days, the court will discuss bond conditions at that time."
Hernandez's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday, Aug.15, at 9 a.m.
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
