Officials with F.E. Warren Air Force Base near Cheyenne are warning people to watch out for mountain lions on base.

That's according to a post on the base's Facebook page.

Several Mountain Lion Sightings On Base

The post says there have been multiple sightings of at least one of the animals on base recently. The post goes on to offer this advice: Keep your children and pets safe by not approaching any type of wildlife and backing away slowly upon an encounter.

It urges anyone who sees a mountain lion on base to call the law enforcement desk at 307-773-3501.

Cheyenne Police Department spokeswoman Alex Farkas told Townsquare Media on Wednesday morning that Cheyenne Police have not received any recent reports of the big cats in the city.

Such reports are not unknown in Cheyenne and in nearby communities, however.
