Wyoming Republican State Representative Julie Jarvis has announce plans to run for another term in the Wyoming Legislature

Jarvis was first elected to the Wyoming House in 2024. She defeated incumbent Republican Jeanette Ward in the GOP Primary election that year by a margin of roughly 56 percent to 44 percent. She was then unopposed in the November General Election.

Jarvis represents House District 57 in Natrona County.

''Not Just About Holding A Seat In Cheyenne"

In the words of her release:

"Real representation isn't just about holding a seat in Cheyenne—it's about honoring the hard-working people who sent you there. House District 57, thank you for allowing me, Julie Jarvis, to pioneer a new approach to politics—one rooted in listening first and voting second.

Most said it wouldn’t work, but my Constituent Survey and transparent, aligned Voting Record show that it can. Was the survey perfect? No, and I already have a clear vision for how to improve it. However, what it revealed is important.

The Wyoming I grew up in is still valued. We remain a live-and-let-live state that respects individual rights and personal freedom. We believe in offering hand-ups, not hand-outs. We cherish our wildlife, our land, our communities, and the responsibility that comes with caring for them.

Most importantly, this first term demonstrated that my votes did not always align with the legislative majority. This contrast highlighted a significant issue: too often, the people’s voice is missing from the final vote. Imagine what our government could look like if more legislators listened to the people back home before making decisions. Wyoming, it isn’t always easy, but it is possible."

Jarvis holds a Doctorate Degree from the University of Connecticut. She currently chairs the Wyoming House Journal Committee. She also sits on the House Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources and the Air Transportation Liaison Committee.
