John Kirlin & The High Planes Drifters This Sunday At Beartrap
This year's Beartrap Summer Music Festival ends Sunday afternoon.
John Kirlin & The High Planes Drifters will take the stage to close the events in high energy.
Wyomingites are familiar with John and the band.
They have played Beartrap before.
Look for acoustic instruments of every kind and mountain-style singing and picking.
If you have not heard of them before, the video below might help.
Their song I'm Moving to Wyoming is old-time, high-energy, FOOT STOMPING.
But that's most of what they play.
That's why the Beartrap dance floor will be open while they play.
That would be the grass in front of the stage, so if you dance until you fall down, you'll be fine.
You can hear Moving To Wyoming, below.
As you've heard by now, Wyoming's famous Beartrap Music Festival will not be on top of Casper Mountain this year, due to road work.
Instead, it will be held in Washington Park, in Casper, this weekend. 8/3 - 8/4.
That's lead to some questions about where things will be once you arrive at the event.
Below is a park layout and map of where vendors and more will be placed.
Even the location of portapotties.
Farther down below is where and how to park and get a shuttle to the event.
The event does not take up all of Washington Park. Just the south side.
The stage is a permanent structure that faces McKinley St.
There is plenty of room to sit in front of it and to the sides.
Speakers will be all around so you'll be able to hear the band even if you are behind the stage.
Bring lawn chairs and umbrellas along with hats and sunscreen.
AS FOR PARKING - No problem.
Free shuttles will take you from the Recreation Center and Beverly Plaza parking lots.
That will make parking along with arrival and departures easy and FREE!
Shuttles will be running all day so if you miss one, just hang out for a bit and you'll see another ride arriving soon.
“Preferred Parking” passes are available for purchase for parking on Jefferson Street near the park.
McKinley Street will remain open, but the speed limit will be reduced to 20 mph.
Jefferson Street, which runs through the park, will be closed from 6th Street to 11th Street.
The festival opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday and at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
Other than that this is going to be the same yearly Beartrap Music Festival that you know and love.
Washington Park offers a lot of shade trees so you can relax, out of the sun. But it's wise to bring hats and sunscreen anyway.
There's also plenty of soft green grass to sit on.
Don't worry if you can't sit right in front of the stage. Strategically placed speakers will provide great sound quality for the entire park.
