UPDATE (2 p.m.)

This morning's lockouts were prompted by two suspects running from police, authorities say. 


 

Natrona County School District officials briefly placed Kelly Walsh High School and Verda James Elementary School on lockout Friday at around 11:40 a.m.

According to the district's Facebook page, the lockouts were "a proactive measure to ensure student and staff safety." School officials cited a law enforcement situation within the area of the schools.

The lockouts lasted roughly 10 minutes.
