Laramie Interfaith Breaking Ground on New Building Project
Laramie Interfaith will be breaking ground on a new building project on Monday, October 11, at 10 am.
This project will add 2000 sq. ft. of space to its pantry.
This project is funded through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) awarded by the Wyoming Business Council as well as public donations. The project is scheduled to be completed no later than June 2022.
The additional space will allow for increased shelving and storage, including a walk-in cooler and walk-in freezer, which will help Interfaith to continue meeting the communities needs.
Currently, over 700 Albany County residents use the pantry each month, and Interfaith distributes close to 400,000 pounds of food annually.
On Sept. 21, the Laramie City Council approved a contract on behalf of Interfaith for $701,325 with Shepard Construction to build the addition. The City of Laramie is a partner on the CDBG grant and is responsible for the handling of the CDBG grant.
