Laramie Main Street Alliance recently released some of the achievements which were made in 2020 by the organization that aided the community during the pandemic.

These achievements within the community are as follows:

  • Covid resources: transitioning website and e-news to include helpful Covid related resources for both consumers and businesses.
  • Gift Card Challenge: lanched a gift card challenge in the spring to better help support local businesses.
  • Virtual guides: developed virtual shopping guides to shop local businesses online.
  • Laramie Marketplace: launched a central place to purchase gift cards, see menus, and see local jobs throughout Laramie.
  • Hollyhock Commons: assisted with the creation of Hollyhock Commons in partnership with the City of Laramie and Laramie Public Art.
  • Shop Safe Shop Smart: collaborated with Wyoming Main Street, Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce, and Wyoming Economic Development Association for this statewide campaign.
  • Temporary mural at the Wyo Theater with LPAC: partnered with Laramie Public Art and a University of Wyoming printmaking class to install an evolving and ever-changing mural at the Wyo Theater.
  • Creating Covid safe events such as the Farmers Market, Ghostchase, and Pop up Art Walk
  • The Power of 5 with United Way: Laramie Main Street and  United Way of Albany County worked together to bring the Power of $5.
  • Improvements to the Wyo theater. 
  • Crowdfunding Campaign: launched a crowdfunding campaign in honor of Laramie Main Street Alliance's 15th Anniversary.
  • Cowboy Cash program with UW: Collaborated with the University of Wyoming to provide $50 gift cards to students for them to use at local businesses.
  • Train Lighting: lit up the train depot for the holidays.
  • Brookings Institute study: began a partnership with Main Street America and The Brookings Institution to develop a case study for hyper-local, place-based community development.
  • Restaurant Payroll Grant - partnered with United Way of Albany County, Blue Federal Credit Union, Toyota of Laramie, Premier Bone and Joint, Trihydro Corporation, and UniWyo Federal Credit Union to create a “Downtown Restaurant Payroll Grant” to aid restaurants that have been hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
