Major Cold Snap Forecasted For Next Weekend
This article has been posted to warn you about a coming weather "sucker punch."
Those people who like to wear shorts no matter what the weather put some pants on!
We start this week, Monday, January 13th, with average temperatures in the state of Wyoming in the upper 20s to lower 30s, and partly cloudy skies.
A mild high-pressure system will keep us under an umbrella of nice for a few days. Enjoy it while you can.
As the week progresses those temperatures will rise a bit and the skies will become partly cloudy.
Sounds nice doesn't it?
Then comes the weekend.
WATCH THAT WIND CHILL FACTOR!
Those who have livestock, take note. This is going to be a big cooldown.
A colder Friday and a good chance of snow showers are the beginning of an arctic blast that will push down into our area by the weekend.
Snow is expected to begin later in the day and continue overnight.
Expect single-digit temperatures overnight, into Saturday.
Those low temperatures will not warm up over the weekend.
Nighttime lows will be in the negative numbers.
There will be a slight warmup as we begin the next week.
However, temperatures will take a while to recover back to the low to mid-30s.
We will keep an eye on the progression of this cold snap as we get closer to the weekend.
Forecasts always change a bit as we get closer to the date.
One thing we do know for sure is that early this week is a good time to prepare for the extra cold weather that is coming our way this weekend.
