New Videos Show Grizzly 399 and Cubs at Play a Few Summers Ago

It's been awhile since I've shared anything regarding world-famous Grizzly 399 and her cubs. There's a good reason for that. But, I do have a few new videos from one of my favorite Wyoming photographers which I think you'd enjoy seeing.

I want to be clear that I really don't approve of the paparazzi that follow Grizzly 399 around and that's why I don't share videos from that group. However, I know that Greg Balvin is one of the photographers that is very respectful of the wildlife and also park guidelines for those that capture pictures and video in Yellowstone National Park. That's one reason why I decided to share two new videos that Greg has shared on YouTube.

It's important to note that while these video shares are new, they were recorded a few summers ago. This moment captured with a mega-zoom lens shows Grizzly 399 and two of her cubs back in 2018.

This brand new video share was actually captured last September showing 399 with her much larger cubs.

Last November, I shared the harrowing moment when Grizzly 399 and cubs were seen walking through downtown Jackson near the police station. That was one of the reasons for concern that this famous grizzly and her young ones were becoming too comfortable around people.

Yes, there are some photographers like Greg who are respectful of wildlife. That's why I shared a video from another that I would classify as responsible on the right and wrong ways to photograph the animals of Yellowstone. It's the only way we can continue to enjoy these wondrous animals without bringing harm to the bears and people.
