Bitter cold and dangerous wind chills will pose a hazard to anyone caught unprepared outdoors in the Casper area early Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

In a wind chill warning issued Monday afternoon, the NWS predicted wind chills as low as -30F between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m. Wednesday. The warning applies to lower elevations of Natrona County, including Casper.

Excluding wind chill values, temperatures will dip to around -10F Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

The NWS advises people avoid outside activities during the warning period. When outside, wear appropriate clothing, including a hat and gloves.

Frostbite could result on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.

Slick road conditions are likely to impact the morning commute.
