For the record, it's Daylight Saving Time- not "savings."  Sorry to be a Grammar Nazi, but that drives me nuts.

There is nothing good about DST... except this year.

Pardon me while I go all space/time science paradox on you.

This weekend a major blizzard will slam Wyoming. It will begin late Saturday and continue through Sunday evening.

Between Saturday and Sunday, your clock will "Spring Forward" one hour. YES - that is correct, we are skipping an entire hour. Sure you might lose an hour of sleep, but...

That also means we get to skip one full hour of the blizzard. THIS IS GREAT!

The best part of this is that the hour we are skipping is the hour when the snow will be falling the hardest.

I am not good at math but I'm going to do my best to figure out the benefits here.

Some areas could get up to 36 inches of snow. Considering how long the storm is expected to last that would be about 2 inches of snow an hour as this system passes.

So if we get to jump ahead an hour, then that is an entire 2 inches of snow we don't have to shovel. I LOVE IT!

Since the snow will be falling at it's hardest during the hour we skip then it might add up to as much as 3 inches we miss. EVEN BETTER!

That means there is an hour that you don't have to heat your house. That is one less hour the snow plows need to be on the road.

Be glad it's not Fall. We would be falling back an hour. That would mean an extra 2 to 3 inches of snow.

So you see, there is at least one advantage to Daylight Saving Time.
