President Joe Biden is still president until Donald Trump takes the oath of office.

Biden and his staff were busy Monday morning trying to figure out what they can do before Biden leaves office.

Monday morning President Biden issued preemptive pardons for Gen. Mark Milley, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and members of Congress who served on the committee investigating the capital events of January 6, 2021.

The pardons are to help protect members of the January 6 Committee, like Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, whom Trump has vowed retribution against.

“These are exceptional circumstances, and I cannot in good conscience do nothing,” Biden wrote in a statement, issued hours before he was set to welcome Trump to the White House for tea before attending his swearing-in. “Baseless and politically motivated investigations wreak havoc on the lives, safety, and financial security of targeted individuals and their families.”

Legal experts from the Trump administration will now look to see if these pardons are binding.

President Ford issued a preemptive pardon for Richard Nixon. There was never a trial. So, perhaps these pardons are binding.

This pardon does not block any civil suits.

At the very least there can still be investigations into these people with the opinion of their actions left in the hands of the court of public opinion.

Hearings can still be held and it can be done in the most public fashion possible putting members of Congress in the hot seat as well as members of the Biden administration and the news media for the way they handled the story.

We now wait to see what the incoming Trump administration will do next.

A Little Wyoming School House Preserved In Time

The little hamlet of Slater Wyoming has preserved on of their last two remaining buildings with all the love they feel for it.

There was once a tiny town on this spot.

Most everything is gone except the schoolhouse and the community building.

I stopped by one Saturday morning and the locals were more than happy to let us in to have a look.
