There's a new list out ranking the best suburbs in every state. Which begs the question, do we have any suburbs in Wyoming? Evidently, we do, and the best one is Ranchettes.

With an estimated population of just over 6,000, the unincorporated Cheyenne "suburb" is one of the most affluent places in Wyoming. The average annual household income in Ranchettes is $94,509, 55 percent higher than the state average.

The median home value of $360,600 in Ranchettes is substantially above the $264,300 average home price in Cheyenne and the Wyoming average of $236,100. The area is also renowned for its rural feel with a short 20-minute commute to downtown Cheyenne and access to Laramie County public schools.

Around the region, Cherry Creek Village outside of Denver was named the best suburb in Colorado. The Lincoln suburb of Hickman topped the list in Nebraska, which also included Colonial Pine Hill near Rapid City, S.D., the town of Frenchtown outside of Missoula, Mont., and the Provo-area suburb Highland, Utah.
