The nice thing about driving anywhere in Wyoming is that we don't have the traffic problems that many other places have. Because of that, if you are the driver, you'll be able to spend a moment or two enjoying the view.

Don't forget the road art.

Some major highway projects to look out for, both pubic and private, are:

Highway Silhouettes (By 307 First): Look for large western-themed steel silhouettes (15 to 19 feet tall) along major routes like Highway 20/26 and Interstate 90. You'll see trains, stagecoaches, and wildlife like elk and pronghorn. On Interstate 25 near Glenrock, look for Bigfoot walking a triceratops on a chain.

Chief Joseph Scenic Byway Metal Statues: Look for these located near Dead Indian Pass. You'll see metal statues commemorate the historic flight and path of the Nez Perce tribe.

Wildlife Silhouette Project (Jackson Hole Public Art): These were created by local students and artist Bland Hoke. You'll see reflective and black animal silhouettes of animals.

Parade of Pronghorn: Like we don't have enough of these naturally. This is a community public art project and fundraiser featuring painted fiberglass pronghorn sculptures. Keep an eye out for them near Gillette, Wyoming.

Snowy Range Rotating Sculpture Program: These move. They are rotating large-scale installations as you drive along the Snowy Range Road in Laramie.

Those are just a few items worth naming. Enjoy, but please keep your eyes on the road most of the time.

More road art keeps popping up around Wyoming, so you really never know what you'll see next. It is always a mix between public and private art.

Medicine Bow Wyoming Road Art

There’s a strange mind at work in Medicine Bow. Someone equal parts disturbed and delighted, scheming and laughing at the same time. And somehow, they want to pull you into the fun.
