After a rodeo career that included national championships at every level Casper native, Frank Shepperson returned full-time to the family ranch near Midwest and spearheaded its growth into one of the largest cattle operations in Wyoming. He is a graduate of the University of Wyoming and was a member of the college national champion men's rodeo team at UW in 1961. This past weekend was about Shepperson's time in the arena that culminated with a world champion's gold buckle steer wrestling in 1975. The Rodeo Historical Society's Hall of Fame event was staged at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Frank's son won the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo average title in 2012 and Les, along with the rest of the Shepperson clan, was proud to be at his father's side.
