See The View From The Top Of The Grand Tetons
We all know and love that wonderful view of Wyoming's Grand Tetons.
But not many people have seen it from the top.
Pretty much anyone can join a climb, assuming that person is in shape and not suffering from medical issues.
Just imagine what the view is like.
Thanks to modern technology, and folks who like to carry tiny cameras with them, those of us who won't climb up there can still see it.
Though, there is nothing like being there in person.
We climbed the Grand Teton in Grand Teton National Park via the Owen Spalding Route.
This mountain is very exposed and climbing equipment is recommended, even on the Owen Spalding Route.
The hike starts on the Lupine Trailhead and goes up to Garnet Canyon, stay to the hiker's right of Spalding Falls which will eventually lead you to the fixed ropes or the Middle Teton Glacier.
Straight above the Middle Teton Glacier is the Lower Saddle where you can camp.
We made a two day trip out of our hike and we did camp at the lower saddle of the Grand Teton. (Dan Noakes).
There are many videos from climbers.
Here is a short and scary one.
Someone could get vertigo just by watching these videos.
Do you notice that many of these climbers do not have safety ropes at certain parts of their climbs?
Some climbers like to ditch everyone and go solo.
It's not recommended but it happens all the time.
Many of these climbers will tap the top, look and the view, and come back down.
Others will camp up there for a night.
The trip is not for everyone.
Thankfully these folks take videos so everyone can enjoy it too.
