UPDATE:

A trooper with the Wyoming Highway Patrol offered a few more details as to the situation.

According to the trooper, the driver of the semi did not securely lock the king pin connecting the trailer to the rest of the semi. Once the driver got on the road, the trailer became insecure, and eventually disengaged.

The trooper stated that the tanker was full of "some kind of flammable liquid used in the oil field," but that none of it was leaking. He stated that their isolation distance was 500 ft. which, he said, was "not a big deal."

Troopers and a tow truck from E&F Towing were able to help re-secure the tanker to the semi and the trooper we spoke with said the area should be clear within the next half hour.
