Wyomingites who remember the 1970s TV show THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN might remember the episode that took place in Wyoming.

The plot was described in TV Guide as this:

When an object tracks across the sky and lands in a remote area in Wyoming, Oscar and Steve arrive on the scene and find that a Russian space probe built to withstand the extreme Venus environment has crash-landed on Earth and is out of Soviet control.

It's up to Steve to try to stop the probe from destroying a nearby town.

In the episode, our bionic hero has to take on a robot that looks more like something out of a Dr. Who episode.

The video below SUCKS, so don't watch it. But it does provide a photo of the battle between the two. You can hear the matching making old-style computer noises, including typing sounds that such a machine would not make today.

Somewhere in Wyoming Steve Auston - AKA The Six Million Dollar Man, fought bravely against the...

Okay, honestly, this was just like all the other episodes.

It's a horrible script, bad acting, and cheap effects.

But, isn't that why we loved it?

The TV network tried to capitalize on the story, which played out in several episodes, by selling a space probe toy along with the Six Million Dollar Man action figure.

The toy even has a button that the kids can bush which made parts fly off the probe, showing battle damage.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the probe toy was not a best seller.

But a lot of kids bought that Six Million Dollar Man action figure.

Below is the commercial for the probe and action figure.
