Sketchy Wyoming Roads Early Friday
Spring snow between Thursday and Friday morning has left Wyoming roads in mostly fair but sketchy conditions.
As you might expect, much of Interstate 80 is closed as of early Friday.
Wyoming Highway 30, from Laramie, through Bosler to Rock River, Medicine Bow, and Hanna, is closed.
A quick look at the WYDOT map below shows a few other back highways that are also closed.
Most Wyoming highways are under caution for wet and icy conditions.
As of Friday morning, it's not done snowing yet.
Expect early morning snow showers for much of Wyoming.
How much depends on where you are.
Some areas will experience strong winds and blowing snow.
Black ice, wet roads, and blowover conditions are going to make driving a real hassle for the first part of the day.
That white, wet stuff will slow and then stop by the end of Friday.
Wyoming's weekend doesn't look too bad.
We will start with cold temperatures and breezy conditions on Saturday with sunny skies.
That breeze will calm some on Sunday, with continued sunny skies.
DO NOT TRUST THE WEATHER FORECAST FOR NEXT WEEK.
Canada has plans for us.
There are several low-pressure systems lined up and moving in our direction.
There will be a few nice days, for sure, but expect cold, rainy, and at times, snowy.
But this is April in Wyoming.
We never know what's coming next.
April is when Wyoming and other Western states get most of their much-needed wet.
So, as much as we want to complain, we shouldn't.
The gallery below shows a couple of past April storms that really crushed Wyoming.
