Suspects Sought For Suspicious Package At Wyoming Capitol
About that suspected bomb left in front of the Wyoming state Capitol earlier this week. If it was meant to be an explosive device, it wasn't a good one.
State investigators are searching for two people who might have ties to what was thought to be a bomb left out in front of the Wyoming state Capitol.
In a brief phone interview with WyoFile, DCI Commander Ryan Cox said he did not believe the device had the explosive potency to harm nearby people had it exploded.
“I don’t think it had the capabilities,” he said. Still, he said it was too early to describe the intention behind placing the device outside the Capitol. (WYOFILE).
While the device was decribed as the type of small homemade bomb made by insurgents in foreign combat zones, it lacked any sophistication
The device was rendered harmless and analyzed. It had a press release switch and was “likely a deconstructed live firework munition with a fuse,” the release read.
The discovery of the package, which was left outside the Capitol's seal, prompted the evacuation of the Capitol on Tuesday. The incident is now under investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the FBI, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Video footage has identified two “subjects of interest.” The agency is working with federal officials to identify them. These agencies have also asked for the public’s help.
What is also not known is the motive. Nobody made any phone calls, and there were no e-mails or written notes left. So we are left with a big who, and why.
