A supercell thunderstorm dropped hail larger than softballs in southern Sioux County, Nebraska Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.

It looks like Mother Nature may be planning her own fireworks this Fourth of July weekend.

Meanwhile, a tornado was reported about 15 miles east of Lusk, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service at around 2:30 p.m.

The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says hail and strong winds are possible this afternoon [May 17] in southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle.

Hail will be the primary threat with these storms and a couple of the storms may produce up to ping pong ball size hail.

The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says severe thunderstorms are possible in southeast Wyoming today [Sept. 12] and tomorrow.

All modes of severe thunderstorm weather are possible, but the main hazard will be large hail to the size of golfballs.

Tuesday night became pretty crazy, scary, and at times, dangerous, around southeast Wyoming with a hail storm that came through in didn't let up for a few hours. Not only was there plenty of hail that would lead to flash flooding that made for unsafe driving conditions in spots, and also power outages throughout parts of Cheyenne.

A few isolated tornadoes are also possible in some areas.
