After the polls closed on Tuesday, both of Wyoming's senators, Cynthia Lummis and John Barrasso congratulated Harriet Hageman on her congressional victory.

"Thank you, Wyoming!" Hageman wrote on her Facebook page. "I am honored and humbled to have your support. This is just the beginning, now the work begins!"

Liz Cheney, R-Wyoming, is backing former CIA officer Abigail Spanberger as she seeks a third term.

Harriet Hageman has responded by calling the letter ''a threat against me simply because I hold a different political opinion."

"Liz Cheney should be ashamed of herself, the way she acted, and her spiteful, sanctimonious words and actions towards others," Trump wrote. "Now she can finally disappear into the depths of political oblivion."

Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, Donald Trump’s fiercest Republican adversary in Congress, was defeated in a GOP primary Tuesday.

Wyoming Senator John Barrasso has put out a statement congratulating Harriet Hageman on her primary win.

"Proud to cast my ballot today," Cheney wrote on her Twitter page. "The challenges we are facing require serious leaders who will abide by their oath and uphold the Constitution - no matter what."
