Power outage for nearly 8,000 to begin the final Friday of spring

There is currently a power outage that is affecting Rocky Mountain Power customers on the east side of Casper.

Rocky Mountain Power announced that they have shut off power to almost 700 customers in Casper due to 'Emergency Repairs.'

There is currently a power outage that is affecting Rocky Mountain Power customers on the east side of Casper, near the Kelly Walsh High School area.

Estimated time of outage is currently 3 hours.

Often times we go through our daily lives and miss out on some of the wonders and beauty that are right under our noses.

Winds hit 86 mph at roughly 4 a.m. Tuesday, according to the weather service website.

High winds are in the forecast for at least the next day.

The outages come as Casper's still-green trees are laden with snow from a winter storm that's moving through Wyoming.

Rocky Mountain Power is currently investigating the cause of the outage.
