Red Flag Warning

Red Flag Warnings are in effect for Friday afternoon across all of southeastern Wyoming.

A Red flag Warning is in effect for all of southeast Wyoming today due to warm, dry and windy conditions.

In Casper, highs of 94-98 degrees are expected.

The warning is in effect from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The warning includes the cities of Cheyenne, Casper, Wheatland, and Torrington, among others.

Critical fire weather results from a combination of high temperatures, low humidities and strong, gusty winds.

Burn permits in Natrona County have been suspended.

That mix of conditions will be conducive to new fire starts and extreme fire behavior, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.

The warning is in effect from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Dry, breezy conditions with highs in the 90-100 degree range are expected in much of the region.
