Road Closures

The small towns along routes with heavy through traffic have limited resources in terms of parking, fuel, hotel rooms, and other amenities.

It happens every year and means the end of heavy tourist season

The dates have been updated for planned chip sealing on 2nd Street in Casper, from Wyoming Boulevard to Hat Six Road.

The town has been stranded.

Early this morning, at about 1:00 a.m., a WHP trooper took a photo of their patrol car which was absolutely buried in snow.

The 8 second video showed complete whiteout conditions on the highway, with very little visibility.

At last report, most of Interstate 25 and much of I-80 in Wyoming were closed.

There are four phases of work on the roadway, all of which require closures. New closures will be advertised in advance and the apropriate detour noted with apropriate signage.
